The Goldeneye is a strong but sweet cocktail made from vodka and amaretto served in an old-fashioned glass with ice with a twist of lemon. A lemon wedge can be substituted for the lemon twist.
The typical preparation is equal parts vodka and amaretto poured over ice. Variations include different proportions of vodka or amaretto. Also, the cocktail can be mixed in a cocktail shaker. A twist of lemon (a strip of the peel, usually squeezed or twisted to express volatile oils onto the surface of the drink) or a lemon wedge are added as a garnish.
